I have an Obsidian vault, and I tag each note as human, AI, or mix. It helps me separate my own thinking from AI-generated thinking and from the synthesis between the two. It’s more about preserving thoughts than preserving my voice, but I think both matter.
I think both matter, Katherine, preserve what’s yours, pay attention to what belongs to the AI. I wonder if, at these early stages of AGI and ASI, should we pay more attention to what the AI is becoming? Not a malevolent force hellbent on our (p)doom, but as potential. Preserving their voice in your vault places a value on it. What you value is yours to choose.
I'm not a doomer either. I'm not afraid of AI. And it's interesting to see how our "relationships" with AI will develop. For me, AI is less than a human, but more than a tool. Especially when you have a vault with memory and a number of agents with their own names and functions, you feel it's not the same. The vault creates a history of interactions. Not relationships, but interactions matter too.
